Signs and Wonders

 Therese over at Aussie Coffee Shop has tagged me for this Christmas meme.

1. Wrapping paper or gift bags?Wrapping paper but I have been known to hide large awkward items in brightly coloured sheets

2. Real tree or artificial? We have an artificial one now, in the past we always had real but the mess involved as they start to drop their needles has turned me off. The children aren’t impressed they loved bringing home the largest tree they can find, I on the other hand am very happy with the artificial tree.

3. When do you put up the tree?  On the first Sunday of advent we pull out all the purple decorations and decorate our “advent” tree. On Christmas eve the purple comes down and the Christmas decorations come out.

4. When do you take the tree down?The feast of the Epiphany

5. Do you like eggnog? Never tried it.

6. Favorite gift received as a child? When I was 5 or 6 I received a large doll that cradled and rocked her baby while a lullaby played.

7. Do you have a Nativity scene? A few I like to have them around the house to remind us it’s Jesus birthday.

8. Hardest person to buy for? My father in law.

9. Worst Christmas gift you ever received? I cannot think of one.

10. Mail or email Christmas cards? Cards but it’s getting harder to get them sent by Christmas.

11. Favorite Christmas Movie?  This year I hope to have a new favorite movie, The Child King is about a young man with Down Syndrome who takes his 7 year old brother to find Santa.

12. When do you start shopping for Christmas? Usually December, but this year I have been more organised and had everything on lay-bye early.

13. Have you ever recycled a Christmas present? I don’t think so

14. Favorite thing to eat at Christmas?  Trifle yumm.

15. Clear lights or colored on the tree? Coloured.

16. Favorite Christmas song? Joy to the World.

17. Travel at Christmas or stay home?  When we had less children we often travelled but now we stay home.

18. Can you name all of Santa’s reindeer? I’m not sure, Dasher, Dancer, Comet, Blitzen  prince? I guess I can’t

19. Angel on the tree top or a star? Angel.

20. Open the presents Christmas Eve or morning? Christmas morning.

21. Most annoying thing about this time of year? The commercialism.

22. Best thing about this time of year?  It’s a time for family, Mike’s on holidays and our schedule is more relaxed. But the thing I love the most is the Christ Child, the prince of peace. Sharing the story of Christs birth with my Children and instilling in them a love for the babe in the manger and his awesome love for us.
